Flight E of Pinktober Poker Open Event 1 begins at 10 am and the first order of business has already been settled. The $200 buy-in tournament had a $100,000 guarantee and Flight D put the prize pool over that mark last night.

Now we just spin it up higher.

Players start with 20,000 in their stacks and the first 25 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes in Level 26. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm. Flight E will play down to the last 10% of the field and they will return on Sunday at 11 am in the money for Day 2.

Unlike Flight A, the money bubble was a quick ordeal this afternoon. It took two hands to get the Flight C field into the money and onto Day 2 with 15 players advancing and Matt Sundberg leading.

Not only was he the big stack today, but he put the overall chip lead in the bag with 667,000, topping the 657,000 of Ed Johnston last night.

The last break ended and players are back in their seats looking at finishing their day before too long. They lost two players as soon as action was back underway and only a half dozen knockouts from advancing.

Milan Cyprich was the chip leader at the second break and he improved his stack to 246,000 to stay up top.

As Flight C rolls through the end of Level 11, the field is down to the last four tables and not far from getting to three. 27 players are remaining, and 15 will get a seat for Day 2 on Sunday.

Shane Melert is still in the mix and coming off a nice run in our last series. During the inaugural Tampa Signature Poker Series, he won the $600 Deep Stack, then followed that up with a ninth-place final table finish in the Championship.

Registration closed for Flight C of PPO Event 1 with 147 entries, putting the combined total at 501 for the tournament. They have contributed over $80,000 toward the $100,000 guarantee with three more big flights.

Flight C will continue until 15 players remain and they will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at 11 am in the money. Players must bag chips to advance.

The second break ended, players returned to their seats, and registration closed with an unofficial 146 entries in Flight C. Another great turnout and the fields are only going to get bigger as we move into the weekend.

Milan Cyprich is the early leader with 180,000 with a few more over 100K trying to chase him down. But they all have a lot of ways to go if they want to catch overall chip leader Ed Johnston and his huge 657,000 bag.
